Courses Offered

Michelle's passion lies in empowering other peers to advocate for themselves, and supports them with recognizing their own strengths and talents, which in turn ignites that spark of hope that recovery is possible.

Michelle maintains Peer Roles such as:
Peer Navigator for the Wellness Network and Peer Facilitator for Working on Wellness (WOW) at the Edmonton Hope & Wellness Centre.

Michelle is a member of the Steering Committee for the Wellness Network Learning Community.

She also facilitates the following Recovery College courses:

  • Do What You Love and Love What You Do (DWYL)
  • Mental Wellness Recovery Group (MWRG)
  • Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®)

Do What You Love and Love What You Do

This course is based on the workbook written by Michelle, by the same title.

Learners will have the opportunity to do hands-on exercises to learn new and exciting ways to develop skills, navigate change and find out what their strengths and talents are. They will discover how to become a self-advocate for their own needs and wants.

They will learn what they are passionate about and may find new and exciting ways to "Do What They Love and Love What They Do"!

This course is run over 8 weeks with 2-hour sessions per week. It is offered through the Wellness Network Learning Community in Edmonton.

Mental Wellness Recovery Group

The MWRG is a structured group where learners will be given proven tools to help in their own recovery journey to Mental Wellness. It includes techniques to work through despair, negative self-talk and anxiety, amoung others. It will teach you how to set goals that you can acheive.

This course is run over 10 weeks with 2-hour sessions per week. It is offered through the Wellness Network Learning Community in Edmonton.

Wellness Recovery Action Plan Program

WRAP® uses a preventive approach whereby individuals will gain tools to get well and stay well.

WRAP® is non-diagnosis focused and no referral is necessary.

It is run over 9 weeks with 2-hour sessions per week and is offered through the Wellness Network Learning Community in Edmonton.
